 World Food Market – a food sampling from the many spices and people that make up the most diverse community on the planet
 Malvern, Then and Now a brief history presentation followed by a scenic Bus Tour with a few stops along the way at some of Malvern’s famous
buildings
 Junior Jammers & Adult All-Stars 3 on 3 Basketball tournament
 Small Post Soccer Tournament
 Socacize assigns a professional instructor to teach you how to get your heart rate up while ‘yuh wine down low’.
 A Session with Salsa free dance lessons from a certified Latin dance instructor
 Malvern’s Moonlight Movies - grab a blanket, some popcorn and your family for a free outdoor viewing of a box office hit feature film under the
beautiful late summer September sky.

Celebrate Toronto's 175th anniversary at the City's historic sites: Free on weekends all summer

Mayor David Miller recently announced that admission to 8 of the City of Toronto's historic sites will be Free on weekends in July and August. The City is taking this first-ever initiative to commemorate Toronto's 175th birthday while offering residents affordable and accessible activities during recessionary times. Visitors can enjoy programming and events at Colborne Lodge, Fort York National Historic Site, Gibson House Museum, Mackenzie House, Montgomery's Inn, Scarborough Museum, Spadina Museum: Historic House & Gardens, and Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum and Arts Centre. Programming at the sites features music, drama, crafts for kids, heritage recipes to taste and other fun for the entire family.

George Blake and Kalalu Folklore Theatre create a performance celebrating Ontario's first officially recognized Emancipation Day.

To celebrate Canada Day at Mandarin, they're by offering our All-You-Can-Eat Buffet for FREE to Canadian citizens  to say THANK YOU CANADA.

Visit any of the 21 locations on July 1, 2009 and enjoy tasty Chinese cuisine alongside tried and true Canadian dishes, all for FREE. The celebration begins at 12:00pm and ends with our last seating at 8:30pm.  Seating is  on a first come first serve basis. Come join in on the festivities! 
 
Buffet meals (including soft drinks, tea, and coffee) are free for all Canadians* with one of the following proofs of citizenship: Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian citizenship card

First seating is at 12:00pm and our last seating is at 8:30pm 

All guests in your party must be present in the line. If a member of your party needs a break, please inform the people behind you

Dress code is in effect

This offer does not apply to:other beverages, take-out or delivery meals 

Tips are not included and are appreciated by the staff 

À-la-carte will not be served on July 1, but they  will continue serving take-out & delivery at regular prices

Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights (Ontario, Canada) Free Saturday night Summer Concerts

We're off to Omemee Pioneer Days and then the Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights tonight!

Free Festival Concerts are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Del Crary Park in downtown Peterborough (see map for location) until August 22.

Concerts begin at 8:00 pm. Admission is free so arrive early with a picnic supper if you want to get parking. Take a lawn chair or rent one for $3.00 (limited number available to rent). You can also get special "VIP" seats in front of the stage! (check out the Friends of the Festival section for information.) Last year there were fire=works and an illuminated boat show after the Saturday concerts. I hope they still have this on.

Check list of things to take: picnic, bug spray, lawn chairs, jacket (it can get cool by the water), kleenex, camera, dollar store glo sticks, socks for the bouncy castle.
